Carbon capture in the news

I wish the media (e.g. Channel4. news) would mention this technology  in their carbon capture stories;-

The public and decision makers need to know that stuffing it underground ain't the only or the best fix.
There are some really well thought out solutions that turn the waste into useful things without burning (much) more fuel.
The video does highlight other strengths too and a weakness. Shocked

Re: Carbon capture in the news

Great link - thanks - that just about sums it up.
A long time ago in the 1970's there used be program called Tomorrows World with Raymond Baxter and crew.
They demonstrated an engine that ran on dried algae or dried plankton back that far.
However sometimes other demos failed horribly like a speech recognition demo that couldnt understand Quiet or Quick.
It seems today there is no tomorrow. Shame. Undecided

Glad I'm not the only one who's noticed that show exists - I too have been enjoying the series. Here's hoping the BBC commission a second...

Re: Carbon capture in the news

how are these clever blighters going to sequester the carbon dioxide and sulpher that comes out of the next big volcanic eruption?
i'm more impressed by the gang that is taking the output from power and oil stations to grow algae for fuel and animal feed.  they are producing ethanol, biodiesel and animal feed.  nice little earner too.
