Vauxhall used to make great cars until a large USA company took over and started their games.

I'm amazed you can remember when Vauxhall wasn't owned by GM, as GM bought them out in 1925.......... Grin

Not necessarily to those who have had them nicked in the first place,.... obviously... but to the crash repair market...

Re: Car Stripping

The Velox was a good looker in it's day. Wrap around windscreen, indicators in the fins. Front courting seat. Column change. Debateable whether it beat the Zodiac or convertible Zepyhr.
Those were the days.
Let's be careful out there !

Re: Car Stripping

My first car(s) was a two Vauxhall Victor 101`s two tone blue....
It was later ( 3 months later ).... found to be two cars welded across the middle.... the old "cut and shut"..... only way to keep the back doors closed was to tie them together with a washing line through the arm rests....
I doubt if its still on the road,... but if you do see one... and the reg no is CHD 626  report it ! ! ! ! ...

Re: Car Stripping

One of my first cars was a Viva which had a lovely smooth ride with it's coil springs.

My first car was the Viva HB. Nice to drive and easy to fix.

I heard some rumours that illegal immigrants were eating the front end of Land Rover Defenders.
