Car Parking

Hi All
I came across this on SKYuser, From the topic poster:
Quote
Im trying to highlight and shame ****ers who park in disabled and parent with child parking spaces when they are neither disabled or with child.
If you would like to help the cause please visit
Are You Supposed To Park There ?
and either sign the guestbook or better still submit a pic.
Or you could not bother !!!!
Cheers

And if you want to put the heby gevy's up them go to Revenge is Yellow.
The text on the ticket reads;
These spaces are reserved for parents with toddlers or for disabled, not the reckless layabouts or thoughtless idle gits. Just because the spaces are closer to the entrance does not mean they are for selfish w_____s like you.
I've asked Santa for a pack of these revenge tickets.    Cheesy

Re: Car Parking

Not quite the same but for parking in a silly place while installing new bollards, this picture from Dublin takes some beating

Heh... to be fair though it looks like the van could be squeezed between the two bollards at the bottom of the photo.

I'm tempted to say it's not bollards the van needs squeezing between but I'd probably be struck off.
I parked in Tesco's mother and toddler area last Sunday with my toddler grandson.
A young woman alone in her car pulled up alongside and as she got out I gave her a long stare.
"I'm a big kid myself" she said with a grin and strode off.
Being a gentleman I restrained the urge to tell what she actually was.

Re: Car Parking

Well, i got so sick of the daily fight on the roads by selling my car, even when i don't really let others rile me.

If the van can be driven between the bollards, doesn't that mean they haven't positioned the bollards correctly?

Re: Car Parking

well if they're silly enough to park the wrong side of the bollards, I wouldn't hold out much hope for their workmanship....

Re: Car Parking

This is difficult to understand a van with a trailer and a taxi park in front of the doors on the zigzag line in front of the fire station doors in South Parade, Tenby.

Re: Car Parking

The reality is the the people who park in this way have more consideration of themselves rather than anyone else. The stock answer I get when point out the obvious is 'BIGGER signage' because they could see the current ones!

Re: Car Parking

Many years ago in St Ives, the lifeboat had to be towed from it's boathouse halfway round the harbour to the slipway to be launched (there's a new boathouse with it's own slipway now). There was one day on a real shout (maroons had gone up, everybody running around etc.) a jaguar car was parked across the top of the slipway - with the driver sat in it - he refused to move to let the lifeboat launch! How he didn't get lynched by the fishermen I'll never know.

Re: Car Parking

This is a regular situation across from my office.
In front of the car is an electricity sub-station.
If emergency access to the sub-station is required...tough
Anyone with a buggy coming up the footpath to the nearside of the car has to walk into the road around the back of the car.
The driver of the car looked like he couldn't care less, but that's my personal opinion.

Re: Car Parking

There was a video clip somewhere doing the rounds on the internet. I can't remember what place it was (Manchester I seem to remember), but they installed some bollards which are to let service vehicles in only, etc. and not other traffic.
It was a couple of minutes long, and it showed numerous drivers trying to tailgate the vehicle in front which had been allowed to proceed. Of course their vehicle got stuck Roll eyes
I used to work for the council when I was a student, and I know how common tailgating was Wink
