Re: Can anybody guess

Not a clue but I have seen metal tips like that with the small balls on the end before. From memory it may have been router bits or something similar like that. I doubt thats what those are though as they appear to have plastic handles..
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Re: Can anybody guess

As I am really old - I can remember using a stencil system for mass duplication of specification sheets
Essentially it had a waxed surface which would be cut through by the typewriter (the ribbon having been removed)
So those items could have been used for scribing different thickness lines where the intention is to create a drawing which could then be copied

Re: Can anybody guess

I'm pretty sure these are embossing/debossing tools meant for use with heavy paper, vellum, or parchment. Though they can certainly also be used in the way that oldjim has described.
When I left school I worked for a company that used an electrical etching system to brand the company name and technical data on metal components. For small jobs, we made stencils just as oldjim describes, using a type-writer and embossing tools rather like the picture.
