COT rules!

Been with British Gas for some time now and haven't really considered a switch - till now.
Just been checking my current tariff (dual fuel) and their cheapest (fixed price till August 2015) isn't that much cheaper.
Using uSwitch it seems I can change to First: Utility (also fixed till August 2015) with a potential saving of just over £200 per year.
I set about asking BG what incentive would they offer to keep my custom. The answer was a terse nothing. Either pay their price and lump it or switch.
So, that's what I'll do!

Re: COT team rules!

Most of the savings are probably down to green taxes which the smaller providers don't have to pay.

Re: COT team rules!

I had the same thing with E.ON, said they couldn't match the deal I found and if they were me they'd take it. Also got £72 cash back so was quids in.

Re: COT team rules!

This will be my first time switching gas/electric provider so will keep an eye on things all the way.
I'd appreciate any advice from those that have done it as to what problems to look out for.
The cash back seems to be tracked at £40.40 and not £42 but is still a bonus to me Smiley
Edited the title as it really read Customer Options Team team rules which is nonsense Cheesy
