At last !!!
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-39325561
Prime Minister Theresa May is to officially notify the European Union next Wednesday that the UK is leaving.
Downing Street said she would write a letter to the EU's 27 other members, adding that it expected negotiations to then begin as quickly as possible.
The move comes nine months after people voted 51.9% to 48.1% in a referendum.
Talks on the terms of the departure and future relations are not allowed under the Article 50 process until the UK formally tells the EU it is leaving.
If all goes according to the two year negotiations set out in the official timetable, Brexit should happen in March 2019.

Ah yes but we have all this to look forwards too...!
The European Commission has announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the EU, rather than German, which was the other contender. Her Majesty's Government conceded that English spelling had room for improvement and has therefore accepted a five-year phasing in of "Euro-English".
In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will make sivil servants jump for joy. The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of the "k", Which should klear up some konfusion and allow one key less on keyboards.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f", making words like "fotograf" 20% shorter.
In the third year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of the silent "e" is disgrasful.
By the fourth yer, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v".
During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou" and similar changes vud of kors be aplid to ozer kombinations of leters. After zis fifz yer, ve vil hav a reli sensibl riten styl. Zer vil be no mor trubls or difikultis and everivun vil find it ezi to understand ech ozer. ZE DREM VIL FINALI COM TRU!
Herr Schmidt

We can also get rid of those poncy pavement table and chairs cafes have become so fond of, as if joining EU somehow made British weather warmer. Who were they trying to kid?

and destitute
A number of people in some areas of the country have been destitute for years, so no change there.
Some others who have been enjoying a good lifestyle may have to work a little harder or do some real work for a change to maintain it but there you go nothing like a challenge.

That is true, but difficult to see how leaving Europe is going to change that.

@MKSlinky I've never seen the need for the x when we have ks.
Lord King (former governor of the Bank of England) was on Newsnight this evening and seemed surprisingly upbeat about Brexit. He stressed that a hard Brexit was preferable to giving in to any EU demands.
As for an anthem, how about a rewording of this inaccurate pre-referendum prediction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RpxV9xuqLeA I love how some of those commenting on the video take this so seriously; perhaps it's true, they have no sense of humour.

I'm just waiting to see the reaction when people realise one of the other implications of a hard Brexit - duty free allowances should revert to the non-EU allowances:
When entering the UK from a non-EU country, you must make a declaration to customs if:
- You exceed your allowances, which includes up to 1 litre of spirits, 200 cigarettes and a maximum of £390 worth of perfume and souvenirs.
That's going to put an end to the booze cruises!
