Boiler cover

I have abaxi boiler ( 3 yer old ) its almost time to renew the cover on it, just wondering if i should stop with Domestic and general or find someone else to cover it, altho i dont know whos the best to be with... who do you lot use ?
Main reason i ask is they have added an extra 8 quid to the cover for next year which im not please about.

Re: Boiler cover

We have a Baxi (over 10 years old)
I Found it was possible to pay extra on my House Insurance Policy to cover Household emergencies which included Boiler cover, I think it was around £55 a year extra.
This was put to the test 2 years ago when the boiler broke down, the chap who came to fix it was clueless and had to come back 4 times replacing something else each time, in the end he got it right.
Suggest you check out your Home insurance to see if they offer this service as it's much cheaper than a stand alone policy and at least one well known firm offering such policies has been given a bad run in the press.
Hope that helps.

Re: Boiler cover

I use a local firm and pay them monthly for cover which includes annual service.  As it is local I found it had a very quick responsive service.  I asked around neighbours and was recommended to them so may be worth asking around if you have a local firm that offers contracts.
