I seems that everytime they get the courts to block a new website it becomes more popular  Cheesy
I for one had never heard of the 2 new ones today - EZTV and YIFY

Re: Blocking web sites why bother?

When you post something like that.... natural curiosity will increase the traffic to the cited websites..... ipso facto make them more popular........ amazing.  Roll eyes

They will find a way past them, just like they do in schools.

Re: Blocking web sites why bother?

I don't know either that was why I asked. They must be very bad sites for the court to ban them mustn't they  Lips are sealed (Or am I just too cynical about the media people who get paid too much money)
EDIT: Thanks Strat, so they are big bad torrent sites, oh my oh my, break out the National Guard/Army and shoot them down  Crazy

Re: Blocking web sites why bother?

Listening to all the technical talk on the radio the blocking of these sites doesn't seem as easy as it at first appeared.  It will be interesting to see the eventual outcome.

Re: Blocking web sites why bother?

The point was made on the radio yesterday that if there was a way to block these sites it would have been done already.  The film industry with all their financial resources would have loved to have done it years ago.

Re: Blocking web sites why bother?

I've given verbal evidence at one of these MP Select Committees in the Houses of Parliament on a computing related topic. It was pretty obvious they didn't understand the technology and were swayed by the the latest lobby groups who had the ear of the press.
David Cameron's idea seem similarly poorly thought out while "punishing" the innocent with additional controls. Who pays for all this extra work of monitoring?
