Black Friday, Cyber Monday and now Panic Saturday

[quote=http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3365300/Shops-start-January-sales-early-disappointing-Black-Friday-Savings-80-12million-hit-stores-looking-minute-Christmas-presents.html]Christmas shoppers are expected to be inundated with bargains this weekend as stores across the country start their January sales early following a disappointing Black Friday.
Retailers are expected to slash prices by up to 80 per cent across a range of goods including clothing, electronics and jewellery, as shoppers head out on 'Panic Saturday' for some last-minute Christmas shopping.

I've still got a few presents to get particularly for SWMBO but I certainly won't be going out tomorrow in a 'panic'. In fact, will probably get things online rather than get caught up with the rush/crush that seems to have become mandatory this time of year.

Re: Black Friday, Cyber Monday and now Panic Saturday

I'll be doing *all* of my present shopping tomorrow. Normally I'm pretty organised but this year has ended up being very rushed!

Re: Black Friday, Cyber Monday and now Panic Saturday

These days i see sales as nothing but a con.
They mark the prices up for two weeks and then reduce them back to their normal price.
Whats the point going to buy on "sale" ? - I might as well buy it at the same price any other time of the year.
Sale doesn't mean sale anymore in my eyes - unless its from argos who can't really fiddle their prices much as they're printed in the catalogue.. but even they could print marked up prices just to reduce them if they wanted.

Probably one of those think tank type groups nobody really knows anything about, doesn't have an address and can't be contacted... but always manages to get in touch with the media to stimulate the economy.
