Nope, I'd say he was nuts (Or at least he wanted to inspect the engine bay to see if he could stash some in there  )

I just remembered actually that on a car I broke up last year, when we first got it the battery compartment was stuffed with monkey nut shells and some of the wiring and air con pipe insulation had been nibbled away. Totally forgot about that until coming back here this evening.
