Benefits Drug Test

Just received this which was supposedly written by someone in forces.
Interesting thought.
Quote
I work, they pay me. I pay my taxes and the government distributes my taxes
as it sees fit. In order to earn that pay , I train for war and eventually
deploy. I am required to pass a random urine test… for drugs, with which I
have no problem. ... What I do have a problem with is the distribution of
my taxes to people who don't have to pass a urine test. Shouldn't one have
to pass a urine test to get a benefits cheque because I have to pass one to
EARN IT for them? Please understand that I have no problem with helping
people get back on their feet. I do on the other hand have a problem with
helping someone sit on their backside drinking beer and smoking dope. Could you
imagine how much money the government would save if people had to pass a
urine test to get a benefit cheque? Please pass this along if you agree or
simply delete it if you don't. Hope you will pass it along though, because
something has to change in the ****UK****!!!****

Re: Benefits Drug Test

I would gladly take a test IF they paid me any benefits  Angry
Given the wallys that get money for free the system needs a severe shake up.

Makes perfect sense to me but wouldn't be implemented as someone would quote an EU rule, a Human Rights thing, an Equal Opportunities law or something equally obscure.

Re: Benefits Drug Test

A large number <and I do not mean everyone> make a nice life style out of fleecing the UK tax payer for every penny it can (set aside any classification of deserving cases, I'm not including them in my remarks) The benefits system has needed a good shake up since the previous government began encouraging the feckless and lazy.
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Re: Benefits Drug Test

It's already getting a shaking up. The whole UK is. Cameron is on the war path now about breaking up the UK and letting Scotland go. Check out the suns website - he says he's fighting to keep Scotland part of the UK and what that really means is that he wants shot of it ASAP.
So much is happening so fast now in political circles its hard to keep track of.
As for the original point, yes, I think drug testing should also be introduced for benefit claimants. Why should they sit around on their backside getting paid for it? - I can't even get a penny and I'm not on drugs or alchohol. Heck, I've even given up on chocolate!
It won't be long before we're funding the Somali pirates under some EU directive..
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Re: Benefits Drug Test

What may not help is that Paul Mccartney says he gave up smoking pot a few years ago as he now has more sense, however he also admitted to taking various other drugs such as LSD which helped to think up the songs that made them famous.
The point is he is now in his mid sixties and looks fairly healthy so those pressing for drugs to be made legal will use him as an excuse to say they do no harm.

Well I was looking at the bigger picture, Anyway what about all these drug addicts on the streets who go to the chemist everyday for their methadone to help kick a habit they got themselves Into? Perhaps their benefit should be stopped? Because I know quite a few that reckon after going to the chemist they then go for a joint or more crack and get even higher!! (day In day out ) And no they are not Celeb's
