Bedding Plants

Are any of you guys into Gardening ?
I Purchased some bedding plants a few weeks ago and they are flowering like mad, the problem is they should not be put outside until the end of May due to any frosts so I wondered if by flowering early this will mean they are done flowering before summer is out ?

Re: Bedding Plants

Depends what species of plant, would be unusual to flower early if it was a 'late flowerer', some like Pansy flower early. Sweet peas are later flowering, Petunia flower all summer starting in June.
Instead of sweet-pea species I grow 'Carouby de Maussane'  a species of pea, you can eat the pods as Mangetout, yet that have red/white flowers, good combination, they grow well in pots.

Re: Bedding Plants

I've bought a lot of plants for my hanging baskets and flower beds.  I've started preparing the hanging baskets this afternoon but they will stay on the patio for another week or so before I hang them up. Hopefully by then we shouldn't have any further frost worries.
