Re: Barry the Mod's Photo

Well, I couldn't decide, so I thought I'd just have them randomly cycle  Grin

I'm not so sure.  I felt that it was creating a rather false perception Smiley

Re: Barry the Mod's Photo

I'll dig out the script if you like - didn't take long to knock it up.
It's a php script that spits out an image header, then picks a random image from a preset location.
Fairly simple Smiley

You really shouldn't end a post with something like that.
It just begs a response Wink

Re: Barry the Mod's Photo

As requested:
http://www.ablebox.com/avatar/rotate.txt
Rename to rotate.php and call as per the (yikes) documentation!
I'm actually playing around with PHP at the moment (although I'm a programmer by trade, my PHP skills leave a lot to be desired) so would be interested in critique, or suggestions.
My next thought is to automatically rescale images to a specific size - at the moment all the source images are specifically under 80 x 80 to ensure I comply with the link:rules

Re: Barry the Mod's Photo

Very nice scripting!
I would definately like to see resizing on the fly, although this could potentially dump a large load on the server processors. Also the error image is created at a stream of 100x100, perhaps reduce this to 80x80 to keep in line with the rules?
Perhaps a simple php upload script, to resize the images once would be an idea for it?
Theres even xss exclusion, impressive! Overall, i would most certainly rate that an A! and will be making it my own DP (if you dont mind barry) later on this evening!
A script to be proud of, good job!
In fact, barry can you send me the direct php file, notepad keeps mucking up my formatting of it! Ive pmed you my email.
