BTO a joke

Last Thursday a lorry with a digger on it arrived on the green outside my house. It appears a neighbour two doors away has a fault on their line and the were going to re route the cable. After two hours of digging they failed to find the cable, put some fencing round the whole and left. Friday some BTO bod arrived and said they had not dug the hole deep enough and the contractors had to come back to dig the whole deeper. Monday morning a lorry arrived and they filled the whole in. This morning (Thursday) another lorry arrived with two men  and proceeded to dig out the same hole. They to have left leaving a fence around the whole and a hell of a mess. I look forward to Monday  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Re: BTO a joke

When we had a fault some years back, the path had to be dug up, but due to some reg it had to be filled in, IIRC, more than once,as the hole could not be extant for more than something like three actual days.
No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

Re: BTO a joke

To add insult to injury I noticed they had dug up chunks of turf from my front garden to fill in round and access point. Unfortunately as I have flue I was unable to keep an eye on them.

Re: BTO a joke

I'd personally take such work being done on a Sunday as a good thing ..well as long as the noise isn't an issue! Smiley

Re: BTO a joke

Monday Morning BTO engineer turns up again and disappears down muddy hole again. After some time later he popped and transferred to the access point outside my garden gate. Feeling sorry for the chap, who looked very cold, I offered a cup of tea. After about an hours he knocks at the door to return cup and said all done. Why is my phone not working then? Oh dear up comes the cover again - He connected two wires up wrongly. Pays to offer a cup of tea to BT engineers. No sooner had he gone two more bloke turn up and take the hole away.

Re: BTO a joke

I don't know how the took it away, the phone rang so the next time I looked the hole had gone. They may have moved it to another site where they need a hole.
