Re: BT told to get their fingers OUT

Not before time.
Pre-Openreach, a call to BT would normally get a landline fault fixed in two working days max.
Quote
"Shorter repair times from Openreach may also act to highlight the variations in performance of the retail providers as the clock only starts ticking at the point Openreach are notified of a fault, and sometimes there can be delays with retail providers passing reports to Openreach."

ISTR that PN can sometimes take 72 hours to pass a fault to BTOR; is this still the case, and what is the 'typical' time?

and you still can.
I was quoted a wait time of around 2 months for my new line in 2012.
Other countries telco's will come out the same day to fix faults (yes on consumer services), we have got used to really bad standards over here.

Still run with civil service management and union mentality which took the "Great" out of "Great Britain".  BTOR have advertised that they are recruiting but cannot be sure what the remuneration package is because they've got to go crawling to the unions rather than being managers and manage the business.
So typical of what's wrong with this country - everything is governed by those doing the job rather than being done to meet the needs of their customers in a manner which the managers are permitted to manage.

OK, in the GPO and PO Telephones days, you might have had to wait for a line provision, and you could have any colour phone as long as it was black - but line faults were usually fixed within 48 hours from the time of reporting.
And it didn't take an hour to make the report.  Grin
