BT Smart Talk Going to be Popular?

http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumerProducts/displayTopic.do?topicId=35287
Interesting, you can see how BT are playing this. Now BT customers will find regular access to BTWifi or Openzone hotspots and with this app to make calls via Wifi. Will be interesting to see if they have good audio quality or not.
Or you are abroad on business and want to call home, well that has just become a free call on the free Wifi in your hotel. Even if the hotel Wifi is not free, your employer is likely to pay for that while you stay there.
Assuming all call costs are based on as if you made that call from your landline.

Re: BT Smart Talk Going to be Popular?

I've used my PN voip on my mobile for several years now. Via wifi & 3g both work fine. And it has 240 included minutes  Cheesy (not that I use them  Cry)
Since I use a a payg mobile I get used to get a data top up when I was on holiday and use the voip to call back as needed (MIL etc) that and visit a JDW pub and use the free wifi with the meal and call from there.
Since my LL is with PN and I don't get any free BT wifi I will not be trying the BT app out  Smiley

Does having a landline with BT now get you access to BTWifi or Openzone hotspots now? If so, I could be switching back to BT for my landline. I thought it was only have BT Broadband which got you included hotspot access.

Re: BT Smart Talk Going to be Popular?

Since it takes your minutes/charges to your bt LL bill you need one as well.
Don't know if you get the wifi access with it though.
