Just checked the current Euro to Pound rate.... it is the same as it was 6 months ago.. before BREXIT..
will those companies, inc petrol and power, and food importers etc...
reduce their price rises?
will the Toblerone be resized to what it was before..
will all those "smaller sized - same price packs" be re packed..
Bet your last euro, they won`t...

Petrol comes from oil. Oil is priced in US dollars.
i believe the toblerone issue resulted from increases in the world price of cocoa.
How is the pound looking against the dollar today?

from this page... http://community.xe.com/blog/xe-market-analysis/xe-market-analysis-north-america-dec-05-2016
quote
Sterling closed out last week strongly, with an average 0.6% advance versus the G3 currencies on the day and an average gain of 1.6% on the week. This made it the second straight up week the pound has seen versus the trio.

Yes, but a year ago £1 was worth just over $1.50. Just before the referendum, £1 was worth about $1.49. Today it's down around $1.27.

But... the excuse used by all those unscrupulous businesses, was because the pound to EURO rate, ( and the link to the us dollar rate) had caused importing produce, inc oil, and cocoa, to be more expensive..
now the boot is on the other foot, they should be reverting back to how it was... and not keep ripping us off.

Ah, The Daily Mail... leader in the post-truth school of journalism. I think you'll find that newspapers for the more educated reader have a different view.
I will say no more.

Not quite sure where you're getting your figures @shutter
before Brexit it was ~ 1.30 eur/gbp now today it hit 1.20 briefly and now it's 1.19

Hopefully we will all make our own minds up about this after the event and not before.
I'm sure Mail readers are getting just as irritated by their continued pro Brexit manipulation as I have been over the Guardians persistent anti Brexit position. Both publications drive us to the point where we'll be saying "OK, I get it, I heard you the first time!" - not that as a Brexit supporter would I touch the Mail - even with a bargepole.
This is almost as disheartening as feeling obliged to 'like' a long standing friends posting on fb only to find one that you totally disagree with.

try reading this...
@shutter ,
Yes, it's now higher than the rate immediately AFTER the brexit vote BUT it's still well lower than BEFORE the brexit vote.

And that is my point...
those rip-off businesses... put up the prices AFTER brexit... NOT Before.... so now they are keeping quiet about making extra profits at our expense.
