Re: Provisional BBC 1 & 2 CHRISTMAS TV 2012 ..... Finalised TBC 4th December

I see on Boxing Day John Wilson on Broadway Uncut.. It was a good Prom for those who like that sort of thing. As I recall the concert was originally broadcast with some omissions as the rights for some of the music did not clear in time.
The Lady And The Tramp on Christmas Eve. Is that a first on UK terrestrial TV? I didn't think that Disney usually allowed its classic cartoons films to be broadcast.
I can't say that there is anything in that schedule that I am really looking forward to seeing.

Been a very long time since I looked forward to watching anything on TV, especially at Christmas.
Thank goodness for broadband. Prime time is now downloaded DVD time.

Having looked through the provisional listings, apart from a couple of films, I honestly cannot see anything to tempt me.

A Christmas Film every day in December on Channel 5 !!

Just seen the promo, most seem to be fairly modern.

Thanks for that PlusComUK - you've just told me I can safely turn my TV and PVR off while I'm away over the Christmas period and not miss a SINGLE worthwhile programme.  Wink

There are other channels !!
But I know what you mean.....
And if anything looked good at the relatives / friends house, and you have SKY+HD, you can download the Catchup when you get back home...
Or online BBC iPlayer, etc

Full Christmas TV listings in Radio Times due through the letterbox any day now.

Re: BBC 1 & BBC2 plus ITV CHRISTMAS TV 2012 ..... now confirmed

I'm a tad limited for channels - I get my TV from a repeater off Sheffield, and to say I'm limited is probably an understatement - I get BBC1/2/3/4, ITV1/2, C4/5, 3 x other C4 channels, CBBC/CBeebies  Wink.& BBC News/Parliament.
Don't have Sky - on a very low fixed income that is a low priority , and in any case, looking at the daily schedules, I still don't see all that much that takes my fancy - maybe modern TV just leaves me cold.
Don't get me wrong, though - I've never been a great TV watcher, I prefer to do more reading (thanks Kindle  Wink ) , or other things that don't keep me tied to a chair.
My friend has Sky - through Virgin - so maybe if we get bored we'll see if theres anything worth watching.

I'm also on a Freeview lite repeater, so limited choice.
SKY, subs or not, is a must for myself to get a reasonable quantity ( and sometimes quality ) of Channels.
Most though I like, are non SKY Channels
