Arndale Centre Manchester

Five people have been stabbed in the Arndale Centre near Starbuck's cafe.

Only there myself a few weeks ago.

Every day we sees someone attacked with a knife....will it ever end ?

We are born into history and history is born into us.

Re: Arndale Centre Manchester

Supposedly terrorist related according to BBC news

Ever helpful. Grin Sure, I’d love to help you out. Now which way did you come in?

Re: Arndale Centre Manchester

According to my SAS Survival Guide the way to defend yourself against a knife is by using a chair so that the attacker cannot get close.  One of those "useless" bits of information that could possibly save your life.

Just a thought....

@TeeGee

Good advice if you just happen to have a chair with you. Wink

One heard recently was if they have a gun aimed at you run towards it, if its a knife run away unless you are an expert in any of the martial arts....  in which case run away anyway.

Seriously though, saw nothing in that BBC link to even suggest it was terror related but what's the betting.

Terrible times with some terrible people with warped minds.

"The suspect was arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation and instigation of an act of terrorism" - and has now been detained under the Mental Health Act.

Well of course he has.

*shakes head*

Re: Arndale Centre Manchester

@Minivanman My dad, who was a para in WWII, said they were told the "Run away from a knife, take a gun" thing. It makes sense.

As with anything though it depends on how an individual reacts, how taken by surprise they are, and how they react to violence.

Panic (and that is understandable) is what these attacks rely on.
