You could have had just as good, if not better, service from Pulse8 at a lower cost.

And you know that for a fact because of your degree I guess.

Do you think the same would apply to me (I'm with PlusNet)?

Let me answer that, no it wouldn't.

According to Pulse8 'fibre' is not available to me, so I think I'll stick with my PlusNet FTTP (proper fibre) connection at very low cost.

Re: Are you happy ?

I’m sorry you had difficulty understanding, @RobPN. The ‘you’ in my post was referring to the person whose post I was replying to. I’m not at all sure why you felt it was directed at you, @RobPN, but it wasn’t.

Because very few ISPs offer FTTP, and even Plusnet only offer it on a trial basis to existing customers

Any why the need for the obnoxiousness?

Far too much of it on the forum ATM...

Re: Are you happy ?

@Anonymous No difficulty understanding, clearly you weren't aiming your comment at me, neither did my reply imply that I thought you were if you read it properly.

I was pointing out that your choice of ISP might not be what others would choose, and in fact in my case definitely wouldn't choose!

What sort of engineering did you want to get into?

I was into electro/mechanical myself and finished up wishing I'd never started as I had year upon year of going on yet another course in order to update what few skills I had. Talk about playing catch up, it seemed the faster I ran the further away technology got.

Glad to be out of it to be honest - although I do miss the company car!

Electronics / Robotics / Mechatronics.

Been a fascination of mine since i was a kid but there have been so many obstacles put in front of me over the years that I was forced to drop the dream. I've been squirreling away bits and bobs from ebay for years now and what with maplin going down the pan i've finally got me a usb PIC programmer (previous one is serial and never got it working) though with arduino being common in my parts box I wonder if there was much point lol.

I tried to get in at two colleges last year (went for two in case one application went wrong). As usual I got nowhere with either of them as they both messed me about. I'm a bit fed up with it all really.

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!
