Anyone used speedof.me?

Looking for a speedtest that didn't rely on flash, unlike most of them.
Came across http://speedof.me uses htlm5.
Tested speed seems much the same as what I was getting with speedtest.net etc.

Re: Anyone used speedof.me?

Actually I think thats a pretty cool site!
These are my results:
Speedof.me

Speedtest.net:

So there is a little difference between the two but they are reasonably similar. I got fed up with speedtest.net a while ago as their flash wasa bit glitchy and sluggish and i always felt it was a bit iffy. I think i'll start using speedof.me from now on - thanks HB!

Re: Anyone used speedof.me?

Can someone explain to me why the "sawtooth" effect on the graphs.... also represented in the speed fluctuation on other speed testers.
speedof reported my current speed as 5.56
MBB reported my current speed as 5.54...
so pretty much the same....

Re: Anyone used speedof.me?

it gave me 12 down 3 up, for comparison okoola gives 60.82 down and 16.39 up and btw gives 62.22 down and 16.24 up, okoola and btw both give a latency of 16 whilst speedofme gave latency above 30, I suspect there is a problem with it only giving accurate data to none fibre customers like so many other speedtesters out there /

Re: Anyone used speedof.me?

The sawtooth effect is because the test is downloading/uploading increasingly larger files.  This initial small files don't saturate the link so don't report full speed.
