Anyone got an Aldi Delta coffee maker?

I picked up one at a charity shop, sans documentation though.

I have managed to get it working, grinding, timed all ok.

BUT how do you disable the beeper when you open the top to put water/beans in?

Not useful 2cv. It beeps at you when you open the top to fill it & or out beans in, Since I will be using it after filling it/putting beans in unplugging it is counter productive.

I find it handy to be able to set it up, go and collect SHMBO and comeback to freshly brewed coffee that hasn't been on for an hour or so. That and the built in clock is good if a bit bright,

Well, two other options, hours of googling, or contact Aldi, or a third & more drastic option, crack it open and give it a beeperectomy... Grin

Tried option 1 already.
If no one else has one will just live with it, as it only happens when the lid is open.

Re: Anyone got an Aldi Delta coffee maker?

@HairyMcbiker

I had one very similar to the Aldi one, and it had the same 'fault', or so I thought. I rang the number on the box and told them about the bleeping. The chap said it's not a fault but a warning beep to let you know that the lid is open. So it might just be a reminder to close it.

My fridge-freezer does the same if the door is open for 3 mins or more, beeps like crazy.

A float tip is pleasing in its appearance and even more pleasing in its disappearance.

Re: Anyone got an Aldi Delta coffee maker?

Sounds like a good case for a beeperectomy...Grin

I did that to a couple of UPS units I have, simply because they buzz so loudly (modified sine-wave output, rather than pure sine wave) that having a beeper to tell me they were powering things was quite unnecessary...Grin

My other two UPSes have Mute buttons, so they can keep their beeps, for now......... Evil

Looks like a beeperectomy is on the table then.

Re: Anyone got an Aldi Delta coffee maker?

It's a simple task, the only difficult part is finding the damned beeper, but disabling it is straight forward as this vid shows on a kettle that for some reason has the need to emit awful beeping noises to tell you that you have done something with it:

Re: Anyone got an Aldi Delta coffee maker?

Yep @twocvbloke

Reminds me of a time my sister got a blender.

Bought it.

Dropped it on the way home.

Said it didn't work.

The dropping must have broken it, she said.

Took it back and said it didn't work.

Next one didn't work.

Moaned (a lot - we got "Ahh this one doesn't work too - I really wanted to use it today", etc, etc).

I took the container off and noticed a button, when I pressed it with the key, motor then worked.

Worked out what the problem was.

Called my sister over and said "It is a safety mechanism", the motor won't run unless the lid is on Grin

Oh.

I see why now, but probably nothing wrong with the first one.

Re: Anyone got an Aldi Delta coffee maker?

@Alex well I did have a mult-sharpener from Aldi a few weeks ago, got it home, completely dead. And no safety buttons either. (and I didn't drop it either!)
Replacement works fine.
@2v yep looks like most of the goodness is in the top front panel so just got to get into that. Probably a single pcb.
