Any trance fans out there?

Hi
As well as classical and a bit of guitar I am rather partial to a bit of trance, my favourite DJ is John '00' Fleming.
Any others with a similar taste in music?

Re: Any trance fans out there?

If you don't know then you aren't one  Grin
It's a subgenre of dance/electronca (which is music made with synthesizers/samplers) which is milder than House which is just noise in my opinion as it  is more melodic.
It splits off into two strands, Psy and Goa.
Psy relies on  a beat to drive the track and Goa focuses more on the err upper layers of a track (I know nothing about music I just know what I like)
There are also the middle of the road tracks which tend to be played on radio stations.
Examples of the music I refer to can be heard http://www.trancefm.co.uk (click the top entry, please be aware this is a streaming site)

Re: Any trance fans out there?

I used to be a bit of a fan. Van Dyk, Scott Bond, Tiesto, Picotto amongst others back in my Gatecrasher hey-days Wink
Used to do a bit of dj'ing myself in days gone by. Tried to dig out an old flyer but Google's not delivering me the goods at the moment!

Oh I see that explains it then! Is that explanation available in English?

Re: Any trance fans out there?

Glad you posted that Santiago! I nearly replied asking what dance/electronica and House were,  but chickened out.......
My only real  music love was Trad Jazz, and of course when I was "courting" there was nothing better than Sinatra  Smiley

Re: Any trance fans out there?

Yes Strat think they should have a listen as doing so will explain more than I could.

And good on you Bob, did think about having a go myself (keep measning to download an ableton live demo) but always something more important to do.
When I get on the road going to do the major festivals such as creamfields I think and maybe I'll have a go at DJing myself as its a way cooler thing to say when you are chatting up the ladies.  Smiley

OK fair comment. Post some links so we can listen to it. Is it rave music and do we to take anything for the trance to take effect?
