Annoying txt messages

Just got a text from 'Kim' no one in my contacts called Kim and so I opened the text and had a link with a warning next to link in brackets 18+ MobJizz I was guessing this was an adult site so I immediately deleted the SMS message.
I have received these in the past from other names like George and Jess
It also says ' to stop receiving these messages reply stop to [a number]'

Is your phone number (receiving these messages) the one you provided as your 'contact' number when you signed up to BT ?

Re: Annoying txt messages

One good thing to do with messages like these and other spam messages,  is forward them to 7726  (a free service offered by most/all mobile providers for dealing with spam texts).

Re: Annoying txt messages

My provider is Vodafone.  (DU in Dubai at the minute) so basically the annoying texts are just wasting their money

Re: Annoying txt messages

They probably send out several thousand, so they're unlikely to be bothered by the fact that you're not replying.
I get unwanted texts periodically and just delete them.

Re: Annoying txt messages

I suppose.  But why is the name being showed when not in my contacts.
Like if someone texted my ( a real person) it shows the mobile number
Not their name
