Re: Angus Is Coming

We're not still doing that silly storm naming thing are we? There really is no name for it. In the USA they name hurricanes / tornadoes, we over here have so many storms that we don't need to name them - its not like anyone will remember each one individually and nobody will ever meet that storm again in the future and have a good old catch up..

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Re: Angus Is Coming

And, as 7up has said... how many can you actually remember, and say.. ah yes... storm XXX was during XXX month and it was terrible/not really so bad

It`s winter-time... and we expect bad weather .. we should actually name the good weather days .. not the  bad weather days ! ! ! ..  there would be fewer names to remember, I`m sure.. !

Re: Angus Is Coming

Tell that to the people of Florida who still remember Hurricane Andrew and the people of New Orleans when the city was devastated by Katrina.

Re: Angus Is Coming

I think most people could remember a hurricane - and thats my point. Hurricanes over here could be remembered - I still remember the one in the 80s when I was a young boy. I barely slept a wink that night - I was utterly terrified of those howling winds and the letterbox flapping like mad. Why my parent never came to check on me I'll never know... Oh yes I do... cos they didn't give a damn.

But ask me to remember a specific storm... no chance.

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Re: Angus Is Coming

I'm sure most Scots people on Twitter will remember Hurricane Bawbag Funny

I must have been really bad in a previous life. This is my 3rd ISP in a row that uses lithium.

Re: Angus Is Coming

The next stage is to start naming individual clouds, followed by naming all the raindrops... Grin

Day two of rain here in Wales, only 38 to go and then I can launch that big boat I should have built.

Re: Angus Is Coming

I got 5 on that quiz, mostly through pure guesswork as about the only watercraft I'm interested in are Narrowboats on the canals... Funny

I used to live in Swansea in South Wales. The sailors using the port used to call it the [-Censored-]-pot (commode) of Wales. Clearly something to do with the frequent rain.

Now Zen, but a +Net residue.
