Re: Android smat phone

It's always best, there is some malware about for android.
I use Hornet AV does the job, a bit in your face when a file is downloaded but at least you know it is working.

Re: Android smat phone

I've had Avast free on my Samsung for 18 months and my HTC for 2 years previously but recently removed it.
It never reported anything in all that time so figured it was a waste of clock cycles.

Re: Android smat phone

I've never installed any AV on my smartphones (but that may change in time).
I'm vigilant in its use never using unknown Wifi when out/about. When I do use Wifi away from home I don't download any files.

Welcome aboard. I own a Sony xperia with KitKat operating system. Battery life is amazing for a smart phone if I'm honest I like it. As for Anti virus well Its not needed really just watch what apps you download, if any sounds dodgy just avoid them.

Re: Android smat phone

From what I've read, and I've had smart phones for many years (six at least, depends on definition of a smart phone)  and never had anti virus nor an infection.
Generally you will be ok if you DON'T tick the "Unknown sources" option. This usually off by default.
Enjoy your smart phone.
