An Unusual Memorial

Here's a very unusual memorial that has been put on a grave in East London.  Interesting to say the least.

Re: An Unusual Memorial

I dont personally feel it is appropriate.
Maybe a small scale model might have been okay.
Many cemetaries wont even allow teddies on children`s
graves, so all told I find the cemetaries rulings to be
somewhat unfair.

Re: An Unusual Memorial

Me either, they weren't a car lover otherwise it wouldn't have been a BMW.

Re: An Unusual Memorial

Is that really a sign of a car lover?
Disasembling an engine on the kictchen table and rebuilding it would show more of love of cars...

Re: An Unusual Memorial

Everyone to their own I guess.  This item was discussed on LBC radio this morning (perhaps London's leading talk radio)  and in an hour every call was in support.  Not one person phoning in objected to it.  c'est la vie - or maybe not in this case Wink

Re: An Unusual Memorial

i think it's great to bring funereal matters kicking and screaming into the 21st century.  it's refreshing to see people celebrating the life lived, rather than mourning the life gone.  so it's tacky?  so what.  it beats all those stupid, ugly angels any day.

Will the family get a discount on their next one from the advertising?  Fully support the idea!!!

Re: An Unusual Memorial

At 50 grand plus usual overheads, I would hope so, unless they pawned a few of their existing models!

Re: An Unusual Memorial

The undertaker was interviewed and said there was a mistake in the cost.  The cost was only £25k.  Huh

Knowing East End funerals it would have been a coach and horses funeral.  It's one place I know where this tradition is often followed.  Gues it would be 2 horse-power Wink
