Amazonitus

Is there such a problem as Amazonitus.
If so I think I have it (I can't stop shopping on Amazon) and is there a cure Sad

Re: Amazonitus

It'll cure itself when you run out of money.
You might want to check their returns policy, I hear it's pretty good.
Just beware when they next have a 'Black Friday' .

Re: Amazonitus

It was suggested I change my password to something unpronounceable and promptly forget it (not difficult at my age).
Problem is they have a 'Forgotten your password' facility Angry

Hope to find a cure before then.
Being married negates the illness but becoming a widower exacerbates it.

Re: Amazonitus

Amazon is great as long as you buy directly from them. I've had a lot of fake stuff on the marketplace - out of 6 orders for cables, 4 of them had fake or inferior cables sent to those ordered.
I bought a 50" 3D television from them last month - while it was 99% working, it reset randomly once or twice a day so I contacted them and they organised a courier to collect and a full refund. No issues with their customer service there Smiley

Re: Amazonitus

@shutter that's correct and interesting as most online forms I've come across offer 'Married', 'Single' or 'Widowed' as a status so they should offer an extra status of 'Widowered' which many dictionaries don't recognise.

From Wikipedia...

The adjective form for either sex is widowed

I remember when 'Amazon' meant 'a large*, attractive woman' - brings a distinctly different meaning to 'Amazonitus'.
* tall and powerful - not obese as 'large' is usually interpreted nowadays.

Re: Amazonitus

Won't this all change now with 'same sex' marriages anyway?

Re: Amazonitus

I love Amazon and I think they are generally brilliant to buy from. Great with returns and refunds, which makes all the difference. I'll tell you what I do, Strat. I browse all the goodies I'm looking to buy, thinking I want, and I bookmark each one. Then I close the site and sleep at least one night. Sometimes I forget about my bookmarks, because so often I don't really need those nice, shiny goodies I was looking at. Often, when I do find the bookmarks again I also find I am not bothered about the items any more, so I don't order and just delete the bookmarks.

Re: Amazonitus

I'm always buying stuff on Amazon, especially seeing as the local charity I used to work up to about 2 and half years ago has an affiliate link to them, so whatever I buy on Amazon, HBS Radio gets 5% of the price.
