Amazon and Royal Mail have failed AGAIN!

Topic.
Ordered Who Framed Roger Rabbit on Blu Ray last week, dispatched last Thursday with "guaranteed" delivery on Saturday 4th January, no post came on Saturday, got back today, no post apart from a bill.
I've just spoke to a very apologetic Irish bloke at Amazon, he is sending a free replacement, I said to him that I was annoyed as this has happened every time I use Amazon lately, and he only apologised again.
Why is Royal Fail staffed by incompetent halfwits who couldn't deliver next door's Cat much less important stuff?!

Re: Amazon and Royal Mail have failed AGAIN!

The main reason I do a lot of shopping on Amazon is because I have an affiliate link to them which was set up by a local charity I used to work for.
But if it takes them a week or more to deliver stuff it's just not worth it IMO, I'd be better off going to Meadowhall and buying what I want from HMV or wherever.

Re: Amazon and Royal Mail have failed AGAIN!

My problems have been with Royal Mail.....probably.
When a parcel addressed to me is delivered to a different address and passed on to me by the other resident I can blame the postman.
When a parcel addressed to me doesn't arrive at all I can blame the postal service or the sender.

Well it must be just bad luck for you because I ordered a DVD player from Amazon on Saturday afternoon at 3:41pm and opted for free super saver delivery.
The DVD player was delivered to my desk at work at 2:30pm this afternoon! Cheesy And that includes delays in my office's internal postal system!

Exactly, things weren't so bad when RM was a publicly owned company, sure a few bits went "walkies", but nowhere near as much as since they went private.

RM were privatised in October 2013.  Have they really got worse since then Roll eyes
I get very good service from RM and most people get a similar service from Amazon. No complaints Smiley

Re: Amazon and Royal Mail have failed AGAIN!

Because it really makes me laugh.
Couriers/posties and the like work incredibly hard for November and December.
They get nothing but stick for doing their best.
Then they have just 2 days off for Christmas, and go back in to another mountain of stuff that people have spent their christmas ordering.
So there is not only the left over stuff from christmas, but another 2 days of untouched mail, so effectively 4 days work in 1 day to deliver.
The staff are still tired, but work hard trying to catch up.
And in the few days of playing catch up, and 15hr shifts, flooded roads, cut off towns and villages, they are getting 'customers' moaning how they can't live without roger rabbit or a pair of fluffy slippers!
A lot of people order online this time of year because the weather prevents them from getting to the shop.
If you can't get to the shop, how can the shop come to you?
People are just becoming ridiculous.

Re: Amazon and Royal Mail have failed AGAIN!

The problems I had with delivery happened during the summer.
At very busy times I wouldn't expect the same service.

Re: Amazon and Royal Mail have failed AGAIN!

I have no problem with Amazon themselves, the service at their end is pretty good actually, it's just that things tend to go tits up once your item is in the hands of RM.
