Amazon Refund

No wonder Amazon can't afford to pay taxes if they splash money around like this.
Email I received from them.

Re: Amazon Refund

1p Land?
The Tesco Price promise often gives out vouchers for 1p!!
On the subject of taxation, our business once received a demand from the HMRC of an unpaid tax bill of zero-point-zero-zero pounds. Yep, we had to write them a cheque for nothing otherwise they would begin legal proceedings for the recovery of the full amount, plus costs, plus interest - an electronic transfer of nothing just doesn't work. At that time HMRC were having significant 'IT' problems. They probably have an algorithm like this:
If ( amountOwing => 0 && taxPayerIsWealthy == false ) print TaxDemand( amoundOwing )
