Acrobat Reader RdrCEF - sends data to Amazon

Just saw this major data security leak (perhaps)

As I don't use it I am not affected but you may be http://forums.thedarkmod.com/topic/18611-acrobat-reader-rdrcef/

Seems to be old news https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1811609

Interesting!

Of course those users who use the Chrome web browser don't need Adobe Acrobat as Chrome has it's own native PDF reader. In effect Chrome users could completely remove Adobe Acrobat to eliminate this problem, if it still exists?

Re: Acrobat Reader RdrCEF - sends data to Amazon

I use Foxit Reader, much less cumbersome than mud, manure & straw's reader these days, last time I used that I swear it took up a gigabyte of space, for something that used to be distributed free on computer mag cover CDs...

Never heard of that one. Any good?

I just looked at Arcobat on my laptop and it's around 200 mb's so not a huge junk of real estate, unlike Photoshop!

Re: Acrobat Reader RdrCEF - sends data to Amazon

Foxit's pretty good, never had any issues with it, they make regular updates for it, and it's pretty powerful for a PDF reader, just as featured as mud, manure & straw's offerings, plus a few more tools thrown in...

There is one tiny ad window in there, but they're unobtrusive and only really apply to Foxit themselves, so easily ignored, but it is free after all... Smiley
