A new broadband LLU supplier is coming to my exchange - C&W

So I did a bit of digging (to possibly get rid of IP profile etc.)
It turns out that it will probably be Tesco - good I thought cheap and cheerful
WRONG - it isn't particularly cheap and judging by this http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews83672.html isn't cheerful either not to mention an 18 month contract

I liked the review that said it would be easier to contact Osama bin Laden than customer services  Smiley

I don't buy Tesco own brand baked beans because they aren't a patch on proper Heinz ones  Roll eyes

I take their just using  the OPAL (TalkTalk) network.
Seems a few "new" LLU's like Primus ext are using the opal system. Shame as they have more huawei  than BT  Shocked  Cheesy
Be's the only real option & after 31st March their prices go silly for newbies.

Re: A new broadband LLU supplier is coming to my exchange - C&W

They certainly go silly for low usage customers - looks like they don't want them as the customers on the old 40GB product are being moved to the unlimited one
Although O2 is still an option but have you looked at the traffic management - it makes Plusnet look positively generous

How on earth are you going to watch videos or stream with an 800kbps speed cap on the Basics product

Re: A new broadband LLU supplier is coming to my exchange - C&W

Be Value seems good @ £14.08 ( plus £40 in cashback ) so it works out at £10.75  per month for unlimited downloads with out any Rate limiting at peak.
But after March 31st its rocketing upto over £18 per month  Shocked
Broadcom's Dslam's with no rate limiting or Line profiles is still  a draw.....

Don't forget Be Value is now capped at 12mbps, not the 8mbps that it used to be.
(though that limit was raised a little while back now)

Not really.  Wink
The "old" product was unlimited but capped at 8mbps, then a year or so ago they tried to introduce the 40GB limit but at a "special price".
Some people went for it but many didn't.
The technology couldn't deliver the traffic management/measurement so they gave up.
Meanwhile the "old/standard" Value product has also changed as noted.

HP,
Is Be's Email system based on G-mail or something else?Huh
Thats one niggle I have with Be , is their forum is closed to none sub, so you can not glean info/issues to help give a more balanced view of the situation over there.
