A new Ford:

Just the thing to have as a private yacht.

Re: A new Ford For Cap'n Birdseye

Very interesting.....
Even more interesting, to note that they have decided to retain the "angled flight deck" for landing on..... whereas the new British carriers do not have this facility....
Also, the american carriers have "conventional" flat deck take off area, where the British carriers will have the "ski-jump ramp" to assist take off...
Note also, the single "island" design on the american carrier, where the British carrier has opted for two independent islands..... going to be difficult to get from the upper reaches of one, to the upper reaches of the other, in a hurry,... or even at a "normal" pedestrian pace ...

Have to say, the name doesn't have much of a ring to it, seeing as history will never forget the name "Enterprise"... Grin

I suppose at the naming "think tank" The Nixon was quickly sunk, The Clinton got a resounding no cigar, and The Carter would have been just nuts.

Re: A new Ford For Cap'n Birdseye

So it's bigger, carries more aircraft, people, amunition and has a electromagnet for launching planes and that makes it their most advanced warship?  Crazy
Where are the onboard submersibles, the laser cannons, force field bubble shields, cloaking devices and all the other high tech goodies then?  Cry

They should have made the hull from nano-cellulose composites. It has 8 times the strength of stainless steel. The only snaglet is it goes soggy when wet.
