A miracle has happened - I agree with Tony Blair

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/tony-blair/10410792/Blair-says-problem-with-career-politici...
Quote
Tony Blair said MPs should work normal jobs before entering politics to give them a better overview of how the world works
Quote
After graduating from Oxford University, Ed Miliband spent a few months working as a researcher for Channel 4’s A Week in Politics before the then shadow chief treasure secretary Harriet Harman recruited him to her team.
He then worked for Gordon Brown, who took over at the shadow treasury in 1994 and appointed Mr Miliband as a special adviser following Labour's landslide victory in 1997.
David Cameron followed a similar path directly into the political arena, landing a job at the Conservative Research Department after completing his studies at Oxford University.
After just three years, in 1991, he was seconded to Downing Street where he helped John Major prepare for Prime Minister’s Questions.

Did TB work for a living before he went into politics? (I really don't know that is why I am asking)

Wasn't he a barrister, how he met his wife?

According to Wikipedia he was working as a barrister from 1975. He was first elected in 1983.

Blair worked.. as a barrister? That hardly gives him real world experience does it?

Cameron does have experience of the outside world. He was Director of Corporate Affairs at Carlton Communications for seven years.

We await with bated breath a list of "real" jobs as opposed to...... (not quite sure what)?  Lips are sealed

Thats not the same as struggling on the NMW though artmo - struggling to pay bills, keep food in the familys mouth etc.
Politicians think that experience of the working world is working in one of the best paid jobs available. There is a slight problem here - thats still not real for millions of people.

Oh it does. It means that when presented with evidence in a dossier he knows how to analyse and question it deeply to discover the real truth.
(I'll leave it for someone else to deliver the punch line!)

Shocked Hell just froze over.
But all Blair [again] is really doing, is repeating back to us what we're already saying, as if he's the one saying to us in the first place.
As for Clegg, I understand his previous careers include lobbyist and MEP. Another rich kid with real world experience then?
But then would you want to belong to the Political Class?

Re: A miracle has happened - I agree with Tony Blair

The job of a Barrister is to represent his client, truth has nothing to do with it. It's all about presenting your client as an innocent victim even if it means harassing witnesses who appear in the dock to give evidence.
For some Barristers it just a verbal game, they spar with each other in court but out of court are the best of friends.
TB was very skilled at being all things to all men or at least appearing to be so but sooner or later you are sussed out.
