I can see no reason why it couldn't happen http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-30369701 and yes, it is worrying for travelling public and crews alike.
That's why many high end drones have onboard 'forbidden zone' databases.

Easy to tell it's faked is there's no noise on impact, even a minor "thunk" would have been noticed...
But, it's already been proven to be made up, so that's that sorted out...
