Re: A Matter to be concerned about ?

quite simple really.
a spammer created an account on the forum and then sent you 14 PMs.
how else do you think it happened?

Re: A Matter to be concerned about ?

i had the same message 5 days ago and i reported the message to a mod, either they didnt ban the account or its found a loophole to get back into the system.

OK, got that but do you have to be a Plusnet customer to create an account ?

If not then the system is open to anyone who wants to send spam to private messages on the forum.

I get enough [-Censored-] in my email box without the need for it to be appearing in my private messages.

No , anyone can create an account. No links what so ever to any Plusnet product purchase.

Re: A Matter to be concerned about ?

So it would be true to say that the incidence of this is now far greater than it once was as the forum is now open to all.

Unlike the old forum which I think was only open to customers ?

Re: A Matter to be concerned about ?

Did you get any of the "brucie" ones as well.

It can't be all down to plusnet washing it's hands of control and having an open forum.

As someone else mentioned on the numerous threads on this, like them this is the first private message spam I've had. Never had any on the dozens of other forums that I've used over the years and are still using.

Re: A Matter to be concerned about ?

The two emails, from Brucie, and Jenifer555, have been well documented and discussed on another thread...  It is a bit pointless doing further discussion on here about something that has < hopefully > been dealt with by PN staff and Mods already.

Yes you're right the discussion has been done but this is the chat.

Re: A Matter to be concerned about ?

Maybe someone from PN should state what action, if any, they have taken.
