A nice round figure of 54,000 when you click on "Plusnet Community". To think we are the cream of this community. 😉

Sorry to put a damper on it, but I wonder how many of that 54000 are prevented from posting as seems par for the course on social media. Some might (and indeed probably will) say well done but I have been prevented from posting on a couple of main stream media forums but, I suspect (in fact I know) I am still a registered member.

A large number of accounts will also be dormant - completely unused for many years.
One example that springs to mine is pierre_pierre... oh and thisoldman. Odd thing is the latter seemed to vanish not long after criticising the PM of the time saying he knew the PM had read his comments as one of his contacts had informed so. There's been plenty of others who have left too.

I expect if there was a figure for say accounts used in the last six months it would be considerably smaller.

That explains the rancid smell around here, I guess...

If the dormant and single use accounts were to be excluded it would reduce the perceived popularity of the site. Even then at a rough estimate I’d guess that the number of frequent posters is probably under 100!

And would it be fair to say you are a active member in this community ?

@Anonymous
Sounds about right, and not unlike including those who never vote yet are used as an example of our democratic system. Always the minority it seems that steers the ship.
Listening to a debate last night on climate change where it was suggested by David Attenborough and others that our survival as a species is in the hands of less than only a hundred people with the power to prevent it.
Scary eh.

As is the case in politics and is the norm for the majority of the World's societies. It may also be the best way to control and govern, provided that the minority with the power have the same goals, views and agendas as to the majority they represent then, in theory, everything should be perfectly balanced; but we know that is never the case nor ever will be!

256 posts in 1673 days doesn’t sound terribly active to me, so no.

@Anonymous
I didn't say you were, 'terribly active'
I said you were a active member of the community (and more so in recent days.)
Therefor the comment you made must by definition include yourself ?

No, you didn’t. You asked “would it be fair to say you are a active member in this community ?”. If memory is an issue for you, you may find this guide helpful.
You’re welcome.

Read between the lines here @Anonymous
What @gleneagles has done is to put forward a question to you designed to make you think / realise something without directly stating it. By politely asking something that is clearly obvious he has implied nothing formally but gets the point across that you should recognise.
To be fair, i'm siding with glen on this. You are an active member and thus you included yourself. There, i've made the statement that glen didn't want to make. Happy days.
