4G mobile speedtests

I decided to start a thread on 4G mobile speed tests.
I am on Vodafone 4G and I find it extremely fast.
The upload is bewildering, faster than my home upload speed which is standing at 14meg.
Vodafone speedtest -

My BT connection on infinity 2 (laptop via WiFi, so near fair test)

If anyone else has 4G, please feel free to post your results below.  Any mobile operator accepted Smiley

Re: 4G mobile speedtests

A friend of mine posted on Facebook over the weekend that he had managed 78 down and 25 up on 4G near Sheffield Smiley

Re: 4G mobile speedtests

I have a 4G phone with a 4G contract (EE) but, sadly no 4G in my area (was cheaper than a 3G contract, though). Nearest 4G area is around 20 miles away or London.
I'll be in London at the end of next month so will test it out then.

Ok Mav.
78meg down is faster than my BT connection.
Which mobile operator is your friend on? EE?

Re: 4G mobile speedtests

This was the first one he did - he didn't put up a test for the faster upload.

Why is it showing t mobile and not EE?

on my cheapo, phone calls & text payg nokia phone, which I  got when it was T-mobile it shows Orange on the screen,,, missus has same phone, same company, but show EE on her screen... when I go in to shops to buy credit, I always ask for " £10 on T-mobile please" and it gets creddited !... been like that for ages and ages....

Re: 4G mobile speedtests

EE provide the 4G
Orange and tmobile don't sell 4G nor distribute the 4G service. They advertise 4G and sell it on contract and payg but via EE as that us their parent company.
If you own a smartphone and use 3G through orange or tmobile it will show EE.  If you have the basic signal nor 3G or 4G it may come up as EE as part of the deal of transferring batch of accounts to EE.
Very complicated.
I didn't choose EE as they were being dishonest to me and I don't get 20 percent off for missus working for NHS which you get on Vodafone

Re: 4G mobile speedtests

When I was at work today!

There must be a 4G phone mast right next to me.
I don't understand why the ping times are high?

Re: 4G mobile speedtests

Be interesting to see how speeds fare when more people have access to 4G.

Re: 4G mobile speedtests

More 4G users = more traffic congesting then slower speeds  Lips are sealed
