25 Years Old

The world wide web is 25 years old and it's inventor believes it needs protection.
Quote
The inventor of the world wide web has marked the 25th anniversary of his creation by calling for a 'Magna Carta' bill of rights to protect its users.

Re: 25 Years Old

One could already say we are "protected" by various government agencies looking over our shoulder when we use the WWW.
But that is the problem.
One man's protection is another man's snooping / spying.
We seem to be "protected" in many areas and forced to pay for it even if we don't want it.
Governments around the world could give lessons to the Mafia.

Re: 25 Years Old

I was on CompuServe for 6 years before the www began! Heady days!  Cheesy
Used to dial into a node at Leeds at a baud rate of 1200 bits per second if I was lucky.

Same here on various bulletin boards, as they were back then.
