Every paper I delivered carried the images of what had happened.
Then the following week (as part of the Scouting troop) we saw the same images again as we collected the newspapers for recycling.
All the papers stacked in the skip is an image that'll stay with me, and its the first time I ever felt claustrophobic.
A terrible event, the memories of those named above have at least helped those with the ability to improve things. No real consolation, but at least a candle of brightness in the memory of That Day.

I was at another game in a box and watched it happen on the TV that was in it. Awful day.

I was 8 then and I remember being absolutely terrified looking at the daily newspapers. I actually spent a few hours last week googling it and reading survivors stoires etc etc etc.
What struck me the most was 'who's fault was it'. The stadium safety was 1 part the police were another. But i cant help thinking how those at the back pushing to get in are feeling now?
It was a sad day

So much so that it's one of the very few football grounds that I can name.

Another scary insight into how quickly things can go *very* badly wrong.

Agreed a very sad day. I'm not a football fan, but whoever we are, we would have to be made of stone not to feel for the families of those who died.
As you say, the police have had to take their share of the blame, and the FA has also had to make changes. Crowd control experts have had a lot to learn ( a pity lives had to be wasted before they did), but I've never heard a Liverpool supporter say "I'm really sorry I turned up without a ticket, with the intention of making trouble until someone let us in to see the match"

We must never let a tragedy like this happen again - we all have a responsibility - as enforcement authorities, as organisations and as fans.
