Re: 118118

I would absolutely NEVER use on of these directory enquiry services.

If that wasn't enough for them at least one is now offering to lend you money...presumably to pay your directory enquiry bill.

I had to send out a memo at the last company I worked advising people not to use them as it was costing the company a fortune.

Re: 118118

All of these private directory companies have similar rates. You can make a small number of inquiries free of charge with BT.com

Re: 118118

I really don't understand why anyone would still want to use such a service. The charges certainly cannot reflect the cost to them.

Re: 118118

The costs soar even higher if one accepts the invitation to have the service connect you to the number.

Never tried it but there is 0800 118 2733 (0800 118 FREE) which provides information for free but is supported by advertisements.

At 5 y/o it was no mistake Wink  he/she had seen the commercials shortly before a parent told them to stop playing on the phone.

Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Re: 118118

They are all at it:  My NHS dentist advertises their various services before the call is answered by a human receptionist who invariably asks if I can hold the line.  I tried saying no but she put me on hold anyway, and at 12p a minute it soon adds up.
