question about steam

Hi guys and girls
My question is
When downloading a game/games from steam say 5gig of data ..
Then connecting to my plusnet account and looking at my usage would that data show up in the p2p box
I'm asking because I was told that p2p is for torrents which can be music and film which is legal my oldest says he's not downloading anything like that and I believe him.
Just wondered why stuff is showing up in that box
Thanks for any replies

Re: question about steam

Not sure if steam uses P2P to download but there are many games that use the P2P protocol such as world of warcraft and terra fate of arun and many more.
There might be a game you or your son has downloaded from steam that uses p2p to get patches up updates.

Re: question about steam

A ton of games use P2P now, it's cheaper for them that way to use the customers connections to upload data to other customers compared to the company coughing up for dedicated servers Wink
