ps3 and port forwading?probs online

Hi im having problems with fifa 2008 online on my playstation 3,someone said i need to make sure the ports on my router are open,im not sure how to do this,i have a bt coyager 2110,m getting bad lag on this game and am having trouble finding online games so think i need to configure somthing at least

You don't necessarily need to forward ports - you have a couple of other options.
1) put your PS3 in the DMZ, you should be able to do this through the router interface.
2) switch uPnP on your router.
These should negate the need for port forwarding, there doesn't seem to be any specific ports that FIFA requires.
Mine was working ok last time i tried it with FIFA..
