ping, snr, interleaving and lots of other nerdy things
hi, i migrated to plus.net because of the prioritisation of gaming packets such as counter strike source, i've moved from talk talk (the worst isp i have ever had) and my ping is pretty much the same on css servers.
before i had a download rate of about 1152 killabits /s
upload of 128 killabits /s
now i get a download of 800 kb/s
and upload of 480kb/s
but my line isnt trained yet so i know they will change quite a lot
the problem is, i want to get shot of interleaving and move onto a faster profile but i live between 5.6 and 7km away from the exchange (get different figurs from different sources) and am on the pathetic old aluminium lines from the 70's, i got about 6 up and down on the snr with the up and down rates i mentioned first off, and am not sure what i get with theese new 1's yet (havnt tested)
point being, do you think it's worth me kicking interleaving with such a bad snr, as my internet isnt completely stable atm.
the main thing i want is low ping, upload and download rate donot bother me as long as i get like at least 300 up and 800 down.
any advice?
