The games I mainly play are:
wow(I play in a pretty high end guild so good ms is pretty essential)

what i'd like to know is what is the average ping I should I expect at peak times(6-11 pm GMT) and off times, would be extermely appreciative of any response regarding this

Re: new to plusnet

first of depending on your line's stabilty get interleaving switched off and fastpath on. some info here on interleaving and its effect
have you gone for adsl2+? if so you might want to look at this Thread as there is a wee problem at midnight on 21cn adsl2+ at the mo.
also there are some reports of issues with WOW but not like seen on other isps's and most cases ive seen have bein due to miss prioity on the network and a Wireshark capture and week later when the new sig goes live it sorts that latency out to that specfic server (no idea why some are not picked up by the pretty extensive sig there is for wow but PN sort them when some one finds one not classed as gaming
what i get on fastpath

Re: new to plusnet

its normally a bed of roses here on PN network but the past month they have been battleing slow downs and even the report of high latency, mainly all on the 20cn adsl network thoe and they are hard at work trying to find the cause and sorting it, ive been sheltered from the main issues being on 21cn adsl2 apart from the midnight latency issue of cause
even when a problem of latency hits this network in rare cases its never that bad to get disconnected

Re: new to plusnet

off the top of my head when people have reported wow to be in the wrong prioity gold where it should be titanium i think they tend to have around 250ms max and that why the networks not in the best of shape.
normally you hardly see any diffrence in latency on the gold and titaium prioity's when the networks in top form and thats why the pro package has all its traffic in these prioity's and no lower

Re: new to plusnet

@volta84. thats bad esp when its to bbc
it looks like o2 are runing your exchange every hot as your 2nd hop latency is where it all starts to go pete tonuge.
the ping you get to your router are normal for the thomson routers

Re: new to plusnet

http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/troubleshooting/wireshark.shtml if plusnet hastnt all ready got a sig for the game your playing then you take a capture with wireshark and attach that to a ticket requesting it be upgraded to titanium
http://www.wireshark.org/ you can use this on any traffic but the ds fields you look at on PN for what prioity the packet is dosent work with over isps's that dont use this sort of traffic mangment equipment
