is there a way to stop lag compensation

i see alot of gamers limiting there upload to get around lag compensation, is there anything else i could do to level the field? im on 80/20 profile and im hit hard by it.would it make a difference to downgrade to 40/20?

The point of lag compensation is to level the field.  Cheesy
The real problem is developers treating Europe, the Middle East, and South Africa as one group. Then you have games with server browsers, so you have Americans, Australians, and Japanese players thrown into the mix too.
Just to answer the last part of your post - no, you won't notice a difference between 80/20 and 40/20.

they should penalize gamers who have bad connections,i did try wireless to see if i could even it out and it seems to work .im starting to think 40/20 would make a difference.is there any gamers who have downgraded connection and seen good results?

That'll never happen as they want people to buy the games. If players with poorer connections were only there to get killed, they'd stop buying them. I've seen people claim that introducing latency by bridging their connections with a laptop running Linux helps. I have no idea if it actually works. Something along these lines, it goes over my head. https://calomel.org/network_loss_emulation.html

Only way that isn't cheating, is to not buy the games with it.  But FPS games have big flocks of sheep, who pre order every new revision every year with that feature, vote with your wallet.

Re: is there a way to stop lag compensation

I tried netem on PC BF4, but I was still useless.
IIRC I only did +20ms each way. I could feel it was less responsive, but it didn't gain me anything in 50/50 situations.
This was with the old netcode, with BF3/4 some days I seem to mostly win 50/50s some days I mostly loose.
It was the same for me with ADSL (fast path 6/1mbit, entanet)  as it is with plusnet 70/20 FTTC.
After the recent BF4 changes/nerfing of all! my weapons I am so bad I haven't played for a while 😞
