how to check if interleaving is off or on?

hi, is there a way to check for myself if interleaving is turned off or on, and if its switched off does it improve pings? not that i have a problem as of yet, but just wondering if by switching it off it will improve my pings even further,

what router do you have? most will tell you. this is what i get from my zyxel through telnet

these are my interleved pings over a post office connection. on my PN fast path line i got 16-20ms from derbyshire. the nearer to london (pn's gateways) the lower your ping should be

if you havent requested fastpath then the DLM would be set to auto which in most cases means interleved

Asbo's got it spot on. Your line is set to 'auto' for interleaving and it's currently running in interleaved mode. If your connection is stable without any drops then we can place an order to remove interleaving if you like? It takes 24 hours to complete and we can always turn it back on if required.

this is the tracert from bbc.co.uk
so would turning my interleaving off improve my pings? if so i would like to turn it off and see how it goes for a while, also if i wanted to turn it back on i assume it takes the same time to turn back on as it does to turn off?

You'll probably see a slight reduction in pings when it's off yes. Turning it back on is the same as turning it off, the order goes through on the next working day.
I'll go place the order now to remove it for you.

My connection seems rock solid at the moment so I would imagine it to be ok.

Wow , its certainly made a difference!
I ran some pings yesterday to a few sites and have ran the same this morning
to yahoo.co.uk  ping is down by 20
to google.com down by 20 again
to metcheck.co.uk my ping is only 17!
On the Cod4 server I play on (usa one) the ping is down by about 40!
And on pingtest.net its much lower than I have seen before.
So overall very happy so far

Just out of interest, what sort of ping should I be getting to have a suitable gaming connection?
I'm sure my connection is fine, but I'm curious to know the numbers a little. My old VM connection was always around 35-40, and so far Plusnet its been between 25-30.
