game history quiz.

what was the very first 3d game?
There is 2 possable answers but am looking for the one of the 2 games that was the biggest hit and consider true 3d.

Being of that era (read old fart) I would say it has to be Knightlore, if not the 1st then likely the first commercialy succsseful

am going on what i saw on tv program on the subject.
my self being born in 84 my little hands wouldnt of bein able to use the keyboard  Wink
the first 3d game was relesed jus before the 2nd more succesful one. they went all out on selling this game to the public and hired a theme park to launch the game ect the first time a game was relesed as a blockbuster type sell

I kind of cheated by asking a friend, he says its 3D Monster Maze, 1981.

all correct with 3d monster maze but the points have  to go to the ps3'er for getting the blockbuster game elite right
boy did you guys have alot of ram onboard your computers back in them day's a massive 14kb and an extra 2kb on top of that if you tweaked them  Grin
this is the chan 5 program i saw it on http://demand.five.tv/Episode.aspx?episodeBaseName=C5134750003 watched most of them last night and i found the mobile phone one pretty good on how vodafone beat BT's cellent

i remember my first console was an orange beast which had ping pong on i think to be honest that was my sisters and cant remember the name of it nore can i find it on the net.
my own very first was the atrai 2600

For anyone interested in games of yore, in particular the speccy, i have one of my sites at www.retrozone.co.uk where there is a large choice of great (and not so Great) spectrum games.
Not as good as world of spectrum site, just my nod to my hobby at the time.
yes i know some links on front page dont work, needs updating and havent had the time for the last year or so Smiley

nope the controlers only had little twisty wheels on them so you could move the ping pong bat up an down. ive just bein told that it passed down from my auntie so it could be mid to early 70's
