just one map in beta but 2 modes, ive tried rush and didnt really care for it. Conquest is the mode for me

I had a quick spin last night and first impressions are pretty good.

I much prefer this return to an older time period over modern warfare and the infantry roles seem pretty well balanced.

Not sure about the tanks though, they seem a little overpowered at the moment.

That was my thought. It looks like the only class that could take it down would be the assault class with the large grenade or dynamite. No anti tank rockets unlocked yet.

Had a quick go last night and joined @St3 squad (not sure if he noticed) and it was good fun.. a bit too open for my liking but was a good map as far as I could see. I couldn't play for too long though as I was having crippling tooth pain so couldn't enjoy my experience as much as I wanted

I get what you mean about the open-ness...

I put that down to the fact that the game I was in was only 12v12 and so there was a lot of spawn killing going on as it was easy to get behind teams (i was playing rush).

It probably didnt help that I found myself on a team that was roundly destroyed 3 games in a row so probably not the best match up either.

That's a big issue I have found with the Rush game mode. A team will win and players on the other team rage quit while the winners tend to stay on. What this does in full servers with a queue is that the new players join the losing team halfway through the game. The best rush servers I have found will do a team scramble after the winning team wins 3 times in a row.

Ive also just realised that rush is only 12v12 which is a touch disappointing to be honest...

Bar the connectivity issues and a few balancing issues I have to say Ive been really quite enjoying this.

Much more so that other recent BF releases

Other than the network issues, servers being full sometimes and the occasional bug like weapons not appearing the game is very fun however like others have said tanks are pretty OP. Also i haven't been able to use a elite class yet even though i camp the sites.

Btw you report 1000 ping in rust, what ping are you getting when you connect to an eu server on bf1 ?

I got the Anti Tank gun the other day and that goes some way to addressing the Tank OP issue.  I wasnt able to do enough damage to destroy the tank (at full health at start of me engaging) but I did enough to make the driver retreat.  A couple of you with these would take one down.
