about interleaving - stats included
so i asked plusnet support if my interleaving was off or not. here's the reply i got:

According to the DLM (Dynamic Line Managment) the interleaving is off (FAST) and this is causing the Sync rate to drop as the SNR is increasing, would you like us to switch this on or keep it as is?

the guy is asking of he should turn it on due to sync speed?
i'd rather have the lower ping but don;t know much about these stats. anyone more in the know care to comment?

my attenuation is 52, my SN is 6.5
max synch 5,112
on speed test i get around 3.8 Mbps down / 0.36 Mbs up
i'm happy with those speeds, i just want to minimise my pings
if i ping bbc.co.uk i get averages of 37ms...is that good?

i do in fact live in northern scotland
i guess i should be happy with those pings then...i can say that my online gaming feels much better since i switched from orange

yes mate, i'm on adsl2+. this is really bizarre, sort of like the opposite problem i had with orange when peak gaming was horrible. and everything sped up at midnight.
just for reference for the tech guys who may be reading: i get solid 37ms ping to bbc.co.uk peak times, then after midnight it jumps all over the place.
would be nice if this could be sorted as i game allot into the wee hours, especially at weekends

@walker. yes every ones traffic on PN has to travel across BTw's network then across the central's (20cn) / host links (21cn) to end up at the gateways in london http://www.plus.net/support/network_performance/broadband_packets_drop.shtml
where it will then make its way across the PN routing to find its way to the destantion
there is a handy drawing of the layout of the telehouse sites in london to show what path your traffic takes some where but for life of me cant find it, i think jelv knows where it is am sure he will point you to it to give you a clear picture how traffic is routed
